Bell-ringer and Objectives



Bell-ringer: Rewrite the following sentences, adding the necessary punctuation and using proper capitalization.

 Objectives:
1. You should be at least halfway done with the components of your campaign. Be sure to refer to the descriptions and rubrics when you have questions or concerns.
2. Your informative presentation should be close to finished by the end of the day. Figure out how you will present your presentation to the class. Who will be speaking? What will they be saying? The presenters should look to the presentation for all of the information. 
3. Your PSA script should be nearly complete by the end of the day. Practice saying the lines. Time your practices to see if you are falling within the time parameters. You should not have to hold a script for the PSA. That may mean memorizing your lines.
4. If you have not already received a poster from Mr. Spivy, that needs to happen soon. Remember that the predominate color of the poster should not be white. Be creative with your poster. It should be eye-catching. 
5. Group leaders: I need your participation report by the end of class.

Bell-ringer and Objectives



Bell-ringer: Create an original sentence using the five words below. Your sentences should be at least ten words long.

1. Dauntless- adj. fearless; intrepid
2. Debut- noun first appearance on stage, television, etc…
3. Decapitate- verb to behead
4. Deceive- verb to mislead by a false appearance or statement
5. Decimate- verb to destroy a great number or proportion of

Objectives:
1. Review again the requirements and rubrics for each component to ensure that you are meetings all requirements. 
2. At the end of the day today, you will only have two more work days to work on this project in class. 
3. You should have at least six slides completed for the informative presentation. Remember, when you present to the class, you should not be reading all of your information off of your slides. 
4. Update the work cited information. 
5. The PSA script should be completed by the end of today. Tomorrow you will be working on refining the script and adding blocking (movement) and effects.
6. You should have a rough sketch of your advertisement on the poster by the end of the day. Make sure that your advertisement is eye-catching, colorful, includes at least one fact. 
7. Leaders, I will need your participation reports at the end of class today. 

This is due in five days.

Bell-ringer: Write the sentences and then define the underlined words using context clues and prior knowledge.

Objectives:
1. As a team, review the rubrics for the presentation and PSA; then, review the description for the poster advertisement. A brochure is no longer part of the campaign.
2. After reviewing the rubrics and description, decide who will work on each component of the campaign. It needs to be clear what each person is require to do for the remainder of the day.
3. Make sure that you keep information of all sources used for the presentation. Give credit where it is due. To make a works cited slide, visit easybib.com (Yes, Mr. Spivy does not mind if you use this tool for the campaign.)

Poster Description- create a poster advertisement that displays either the danger of teen violence or how to end teen violence. Make sure to include at least one fact from your research. This should be neat and colorful. The advertisement should be appealing to the eye; white should not be the predominate color of the advertisement.
